Accessibility

We want Heartpost Studio to feel warm and easy to use for everyone, including people who shop with screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, switch devices, or any other assistive technology.

Our standard

We design and test the Heartpost Studio website against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We re-audit the site against this standard annually and after every major change.

What this looks like in practice

Every product image on our site has descriptive alt text so screen reader users hear what they are about to add to their cart. Color combinations are checked for contrast. Forms have visible labels. Animations on the homepage respect your operating system's reduced-motion preference. You can navigate the whole site with a keyboard, and a Skip to Content link appears at the top of every page so you can jump past the navigation if you would like to.

Known gaps

We are a one-person studio and we know there will be edges we have not found yet. If you run into one, please tell us. We treat accessibility reports like bug reports and fix the urgent ones fast.

How to reach us about accessibility

Email Sarah at sarah@heartpoststudio.com with the subject line ACCESSIBILITY ISSUE. We aim to respond within 5 business days. If you would like a different way to place an order (over email, over the phone, or through a friend), we can help with that too. No pressure, no judgment.

Third-party content

Some pieces of our site come from third-party services like our payment processor, our reviews tool (Judge.me), and our email signup tool (Klaviyo). We pick vendors who care about accessibility, but we cannot guarantee their parts of the experience meet WCAG exactly. If something inside one of these widgets is hard to use, please let us know so we can flag it.
