Camp Okizu
For every Little Letter Box sold in May and June, a child at Camp Okizu got a mini letter writing kit.
Camp Okizu is a nonprofit camp for children with cancer and their siblings. A place where children get to just be children, even in the middle of the hardest chapter of their lives.
I volunteered at Camp Okizu for 15 years. I've watched children who spent the year in hospitals, or watched as their sibling did, run through fields and laugh until they couldn't breathe. I know what this place means.
When I launched the Summer Camp box, it was an easy decision: every Little Letter Box sold during May and June would fund a mini letter writing kit donated directly to campers. Children who could use a little connection. With the world, with the people who love them, with a pen pal they haven't met yet.
Our May & June 2026 total: 55 mini kits donated
Thanks to every family who bought a Little Letter Box this spring, we donated 22 mini letter writing kits in May and 33 in June — 55 mini kits in all, sent to children at Camp Okizu in time for summer camp. Thank you for helping a child feel a little more connected.
